This is a video mapping projection show for the Christmas season in the city of Santiago de Cali, Colombia. We carried out this project in 2017 with the company Cacumen Video & Post for the Mayor’s office of Cali. The objectives in this projection was to show the culture of the city represented in the dance, its typical food and biodiversity. This project was exhibited from the 7th of December until the 30th of December, once per day, at the San Peter’s Cathedral, which the most important Church of the City (and our “canvas” for the Main Show of the city-wide christmas lighting decorations of Cali.)
Around one hundred people were involved in this project, of which fifteen (me included, as motion designer) were part of the team in charge of the Audiovisual content. We used the Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop & After Effects) for compositing scenes, 2D and particles. Additional plugins were also required as Trapcode, Stardust for the simulation of particles, and Duik to perform the character rig. Finally, Cinema 4d was used to perform all scenes and 3D support material. The production time of the content it was 3 months from the preproduction to the final assembly.
